SEVEN Levels of Training and Development


SEVEN has established a ladder of steps that candidates must meet to remain a SEVEN security

officer and be promoted.

Level 1 - Pre-assignment Employee Career Development Plan
  Officers will participate in
 
  • Plan development with the human resources manager before being assigned to a client site;
  • On-the-job training and a discussion on learning expectations with a supervisor;
  • Continued training and development provided by SEVEN; and
  • An annual opportunity meeting and career review with supervisors.
Level 2 - Basic Officer Training
  Officers will complete
 
  • A minimum of sixteen hours of pre-assignment training, including a skill evaluation test; and
  • CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
Level 3 - Site Specific Training to Develop Core Competencies
  Officers will undergo
 
  • Sixteen to forty hours of documented training;
  • Skill evaluation and assignment certification; and
  • Recertification on core competencies after 180 days of employment.
Level 4 - Monthly Refresher Training on the Six Sigma Way
  Officers will provide
 
  • A monthly quality assurance evaluation of core competencies;
  • Documented results delivered to the customer;
  • Evidence that actions have been correct where needed; and
  • A review of results and progress in a site Six Sigma meeting.
Level 5 - Account Manager Training
  Officers seeking advancement will pursue
 
  • Meetings with SEVEN human resources personnel to discuss options;
  • Train-the-trainer sessions;
  • Advanced customer service courses;
  • Operational oversight; 
  • Scheduling of personnel;
  • Techniques for employee development;
  • Financial reviews and management of accounts; and
  • Quality assurance the Six Sigma Way.
Level 6 - Continual Career Development and Training
  Officers will expand their knowledge through
 
  • A semi-annual review of their continual training and development plan;
  • Assessment of talent management with human resources personnel;
  • An annual meeting with human resources personnel to review opportunities, and
  • Certification on core competencies
Level 7 - Certification
  Officers will pursue professional development through
 
  • IFPO Certified Protection Officer (CPO) designation for security officers after one year of employment
  • IFPO Certified Protection Officer (CPO) designation for account managers after 180 days of employment
  • ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation, the highest certification in the security profession, for account managers after 24 months of employment
